I was born on the island of Antigua, in the West Indies. My parents were born on the beautiful island of Dominica, where I resided for a few years. My father was a journalist and editor of several newspapers throughout the Caribbean. I guess I got the writing bug from him.
My dream was to become an actress. I did not pursue that dream, but concentrated on writing poems and plays. The Caribbean Community Theater, St. Croix, Virgin Islands, produced my first two one-act plays EIGHT TO FIVE, GOVERNMENT WORKERS STYLE and SATURDAY MARNING IN DE MARKET, in 1988.
I've also written calypso lyrics and participated in the local calypso competitions, using the stage name LADY BRAIN. I also self-published two books, A CARIBBEAN STORY OF LOVE, LUST AND LIES, and A CARIBBEAN STORY OF HURT, HORROR, AND HEALING.
